DJI Pocket 2 – Review
DJI Pocket 2 is an excellent all-in-one three-axis gimbal camera. As it features three-axis motorized stabilization, you can shoot very smooth video footage even if you are walking, running, or hiking; you will get stable videos in all the conditions.

The DJI Pocket 2 features a 64MP camera with 9216×6912 resolution along with a 20mm lens, quad-mic array, and a quick-start button on the side of the device. It allows you to shoot 4X slow-motion videos at 1080p at 120fps and 8X slow-motion videos at 1080p at 240fps. You can even use it for live streaming on YouTube, Facebook, and RTMP. It weighs 117gm, and its dimensions are 124.7×38.1×30mm.
The device comes with a Gimbal, a case 2.0, a USB-C connector, a lightning connector, a USB-C cable, a wrist strap, a tripod mount adapter, and a control stick adaptor.
Well, the DJI Pocket 2 undoubtedly is a fantastic camera, but it doesn’t mean that anybody can buy it. The camera is specially designed for a particular kind of user, so who are they? If you are a Vlogger or other content creator, then DJI Pocket 2 will be the best pick for you as it features a huge camera sensor and a lot of other useful features. The camera is very compatible and easy to use.
I am not saying that DJI Pocket 2 can replace the DSLRs or mirrorless cameras. Still, due to the camera’s tiny size, it can be an ideal camera for travel blogging or many other outdoor activities such as hiking, filming day-to-day life videos, etc.
As I already said, the device is very easy to use. You can use the device directly or via a smartphone. It lets you access all its features even without a smartphone, so if you don’t want to use DJI Pocket 2 via a mobile device, it’s alright. But keep in mind that you will have to use DJI Mimo app for the initial setup procedure, and it is necessary; without this procedure, you can’t use the camera. However, once you are done with the initial setup, you will not require your smartphone to use the camera.
You can use the touchscreen of the device to navigate through it and make various changes such as alter the qualities of photos or videos, swap quickly between the photo and video modes, make slow-motion videos, and create timelapse, motion lapse, or hyper-lapse videos. It even offers various shortcut buttons; for example, tap the MFB once for switching between photo and video modes, tap twice MFB to the re-center gimbal, and three taps of MFB will flip the camera towards or away from your face.
I like some of the things in the device, including its specs and hardware, support for controller adapter, easy zooming, tilting, panning, and, of course, the quad-mic array setup for excellent audio recording. However, there are a few things that I didn’t like in the device, such as the autofocus of the camera; it could be better. The battery life of the device is similar to the Osmo Pocket camera, and it doesn’t feature any speaker.
Conclusion
If you compare the DJI Pocket 2 with DJI Osmo Pocket, you will see many improvements on DJI Pocket 2 over the DJI Osmo Pocket, which makes this device a value for money product. It is available for $349, and you should buy it. Thank you!
