Pokemon Go: Complete Guide of Animation Week

Pokemon Go Halloween event is currently live, and players are enjoying it a lot. With 2X Catch Candy, 2X Transfer Candy, Ghost-type Pokemon, and many more bonuses, Niantic keeps the trainers busy. At the end of September month, Niantic announced that Mega Gengar would arrive on Mega Raid Battles, but they didn’t mention the exact time and date. In the Halloween event, developers have added Mythical Pokemon Darkrai and Mega Gengar in Raid Battles, but it will be over pretty soon.


Developers have already settled the event schedule for November month, and their biggest event will start with Legendary Pokemon Lugia. Niantic is also focusing on making the game more compatible with the AR gaming experience, and for that, they are all set to launch an event called Animation Week 2020. The Animation Week 2020 will begin on November 6. In the following event, some special Pokemon will spawn in the wild, Raid Battles will be more interesting, and Hatching Eggs will also offer some unique Pokemon. Also, there will be a whole new and special Timed Research event for the players.

The Animation Week 2020 event will stay for a week, and players will have a lot of time to complete the Timed Research tasks during the event. Players will have to take full advantage of the new features and bonuses that will arrive along with the event. Indeed, October month is no less than a miracle month that offers double candies and Halloween tasks. Recently, developers have added the Halloween Cup, where players can only play with Bug, Poison, Dark, Ghost, and Fairy-type Pokemon. In the Halloween Cup, Pokemon of 1500 or less than 1500CP are allowed.

For players, October month is the biggest month of the year because of rewards, bonuses, special event Pokemon, and Timed Research tasks. However, Animation Week 2020 is going to be a huge event, and the announcement that Niantic has made is as follows:

Event Description

The Animation Week will associate with two main characters of the main series named Ash and Goh. Both of these characters will be available in the game, and players can begin their Timed Research tasks. The tasks will be inspired by the main storyline of the animated series.

Event features

During the event, World Cap Pikachu will appear, and if trainers are lucky, they might encounter World Cap Pikachu in shiny form. Powerful Pokemon like Snorlax, Golurk, Pinsir, Ivysaur, and many more will appear in the Raid Battles.

From November 5, 2020, at 1 PM to November 16, 2020, at 1 PM PST (GMT -8), Lugia will appear in 5-Star Raid Battles. If trainers successfully catch it, they will obtain its Legacy Charge Move Aeroblast.

Scyther, Cyndaquil, Cubone, Bulbasaur, Exeggcute, Dratini, and many more will appear in the wild, and if trainers are lucky, they might even encounter a Cubone in shiny form too.

The egg hatching Pokemon will also change according to the event. During the event, Riolu, Mantyke, Pichu, and Cubone will hatch from 7km eggs.

Goh will be a part of the game, and trainers can see him through Go Snapshot! But make sure to take the snapshot during the event.

There will be plenty of new challenges in Timed Research. Most of the tasks will be inspired by the main storyline of the animated series. 

Players will be able to purchase Goh avatar items from the Shop. For that, players simply have to access the profile section and enter the Style section to choose Goh avatar items. 

Date and Time

The event will begin on Friday, November 6, 2020, from 8 AM to Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 10 PM local time.

It is everything that Niantic has confirmed until now. So before the Animation Week event arrives, players should be prepared. Hopefully, Niantic will reveal more details about the upcoming tasks and rewards, but right this is the following information that players should know.
